Popping noise...is it hitting something inside me?

Okay, I have a question.

I'm a little freaked out. See, I live with my boyfriend. I'm 19 and he's 21, and we're VERY sexually active, by which I mean we have sex at least once a day. I like it and all but lately I've been thinking there is something wrong. Last night he was behind me and all and I felt something moving inside me and making a sort of popping-ish noise. It kinda hurts in my abdomen area now. I'm really worried, does anyone know anything about this?

Is there any damage being done? I'd like to maybe have children someday.

Sounds like you might have had air trapped in your vagina. Did you queef afterwards?

I would guess it was air moving. You said "behind me", did you mean doggy style? That position is notorious for getting air into your vagina.

Also, the popping noise could have been the air coming out/going in.. or maybe he was rubbing against your pubic bone?

yeah usually a bunch of air gets up in me but it had never made that sound before. i think what worries me the most is right now my insides are hurting down by i guess my uterus or something. i wish i knew all the terms :( it'd be so much easier to explain...

sounds like he was hitting your ovaries. i've felt that same thing before, it doesn't really hurt, but i definately feels weird, and i felt that same sore feeling in my staomch afetwards. nothing to worry about though, next time it happens, just shift your body to the side,up or down, to get the right angle.

I'm not sure how a sex partner could hit one's ovaries. They're inside your abdomen, and not inside your vaginal canal. Are you certain you don't mean cervix?
peiceofme 4th-Apr-2006 08:37 pm (UTC)
yes, yes, that's what i meant! sorry!

No biggie. We all misspeak from time to time.

And for the record, I've had my cervix bumped plenty of times during sex, and it feels exactly like you described. :)
twohourdrives 3rd-Apr-2006 11:52 pm (UTC)
seconded, i think you may be referring to the cervix

Probably aliens. If he was going really fast though, it was probably air trapped inside your vagina - you probably queefed in a really awesome way afterwards, too? Maybe try things a bit slower, with some yummy lube to help.

Hitting ovaries though? They're nowhere around that area to be hit, I thought.

Ha ha! You are hilarious. "Probably aliens" and "queefed in a really awesome way". :-D

"Hitting ovaries though? They're nowhere around that area to be hit, I thought."

No, they're not - they're higher up. I don't get that, either.

He may have been bumping your cervix, causing your uterus to get bounced up. That would explain the soreness today, too.

In the future, I recommend having him stop if it feels wierd. :)
charlie_ihsan 3rd-Apr-2006 07:19 pm (UTC)
Oh yeah, forgot about the cervix stuff. He might have actually popped into your cervix, if he's long enough to do so. I had that happen once. Most uncomfortable strange popping feeling ever. If they're more than seven inches now, I just say no. :D
orangewrath 3rd-Apr-2006 08:27 pm (UTC)
Mhm, yeah. Plus, it was doggy style, so it was deeper penetration.

If it is air (which it really sounds like a mixture of that and just some deep penetration), it's probably still inside you. I find I can't push it out myself, so ask your boyfriend to lightly push down in your tummy and keep moving down until he reaches your pubic area. After a few of those, I'm fine. There might be air still trapped.

Just an FYI, the opening in your cervix is tiny. virtually nothing (and certainly nothing the size of a penis) can fit *into* your cervix unless it is dialated (like having a baby...).

His size should not manage to push him *into* your cervix. Besides, that would be terribly painful.

perhaps you mean he bumped your cervix?
charlie_ihsan 4th-Apr-2006 12:10 am (UTC)
I dunno. I had a really weird (painful) pop and he was deeper than he ever had been. The only conclusion that I could come up with was that he went into my cervix. He was over 8 inches, so it seems logical.
robynchick 4th-Apr-2006 01:16 am (UTC)
Well, he definitly, hit your cervix (hence the pain), probably pushing air into your vagina (hence the pop) but it really is impossible for him to enter the cervix itself with his penis.
frolicnaked 4th-Apr-2006 06:59 am (UTC)
I agree with this. As someone who's had 2 IUD sounding rods (read: each thinner than a pencil) inserted into her cervix, I'm virtually certain nothing larger could inadvertently enter it.

To superchar42, my NP had to clamp my cervix both times and carefully aim and finegle (sp?) the rod through my cervix. The odds of a penis getting through the same opening during more or less "regular" sex? Astronomical.
