VPFUAA (VP's Frequently-Used Acronyms and Abbreviations)

This is an update on the post Jen made with all the handy VP abbreviations. It's the same info with just a few additions and some alphabetizing/formatting. As always, feel free to chime in if you'd like to see anything added/modified.

The asterisk (*) means that an acronym has more than one meaning. If an item is bolded, that means it is used most frequently. Click on the letters below to skip to that section.

smallstar 25th-Feb-2006 02:20 am (UTC)
Google says:
If I Tell You What It Means Will You (or U) Buy Me A Drink?
rockstarbob 25th-Feb-2006 03:29 am (UTC)
Fancy.
ticktockman 25th-Feb-2006 03:25 am (UTC)
Long before the internet there was a bar in New Haven Connecticut called The Old Heidelburg that had a sign over the bar reading I.I.T.U.W.I.M.W.U.B.M.A.D.

You know how it goes, someone new to the bar would ask what it meant, and a regular would say "If I tell you what it means will you buy me a drink?". I don't know if anyone ever bought anyone a drink because of it.

*daha*

photobooth15501 25th-Feb-2006 01:41 am (UTC)
I love how VP has its own lingo
rockstarbob 25th-Feb-2006 01:45 am (UTC)
I guess it is kind of neat. We like people to be as coherent as possible in their posts/comments, so hopefully this key will help.
smallstar 25th-Feb-2006 02:04 am (UTC)
typo: it's vulvar vEstibulitis

Otherwise, great list! :)
rockstarbob Thanks.25th-Feb-2006 02:05 am (UTC)
If there was only one typo, I am one happy Bob.
smallstar Re: Thanks.25th-Feb-2006 02:18 am (UTC)
No kidding. :) I'm impressed!
princess_kessie Re: Thanks.25th-Feb-2006 02:25 am (UTC)
I did notice that "Not Work Safe" abbrev. is listed as NSW (Not Safe Work)

Perhaps I am just being too picky...

Other than that, the list is EXCELLENT! Awesome work...
rockstarbob Re: Thanks.25th-Feb-2006 02:30 am (UTC)
You are not being too picky!

Thanks. :)
jennifer0246 25th-Feb-2006 02:05 am (UTC)
omg ilu. no, rly. (you = so much better at the formatty goodness than i)
pinkdramon 25th-Feb-2006 02:09 am (UTC)
Is this on the VaginaPagina.com site? Because if it's not already it should be.
rockstarbob Thanks for the tip.25th-Feb-2006 02:31 am (UTC)
It will be! The site is long overdue for an overhaul. We'll get it up there.
queensugar 25th-Feb-2006 02:21 am (UTC)
Bowel Movement / Breast Milk (best to keep these separate, really)

I have to say, that got a laugh out of me. :) Thanks!
rockstarbob 25th-Feb-2006 02:31 am (UTC)
Mission accomplished. :)
whitelime 25th-Feb-2006 04:34 am (UTC)
I'm so glad this was posted, because I was reading a message board about infidelity earlier today and couldn't for the life of me figure out what DH stood for. Given the topic, all I could think of was dumbfuck husband... heh.
smallstar 25th-Feb-2006 05:07 am (UTC)
Addendum:
PID = Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
rockstarbob 25th-Feb-2006 05:33 am (UTC)
Ooh, good one. I'll add that tonight.
althea 25th-Feb-2006 08:11 am (UTC)
Shiny! Is it wrong to feel proud that I knew most of them? I win at internetz!

Okay, seriously, this is great to have because there *were* a few that I didn't know. Like BUM. Hee. Bum. It's funny 'cause people used to (and some still do) use anal intercourse as an alternative to PIV, so it was kind of like behavioral birth control, plus, you know, "back" as in back end.... Yeah, I shouldn't post while I'm tired. I'll show myself out.
_appassionata_ 25th-Feb-2006 09:04 am (UTC)
OMG TY for posting this. /hug.
rockstarbob 25th-Feb-2006 08:45 pm (UTC)
OMG, YW!
123berries 7th-Feb-2007 11:34 pm (UTC)
It's just something very little but I noticed the O on "OP original poster" isn't bold, while the P is. *Shrug*

Very informative though!

Quick Question- wouldn't ED also double for Erectile Dysfunction?
pirogoeth 12th-Jun-2008 08:53 pm (UTC)
Call me nitpicky, but it's spelled "miscarriage" not "misscarriage". :) This is a great guide, though!
aylaelphaba 6th-Dec-2011 05:09 am (UTC)
Good list! What about BDSM? I think I've seen it a few times and I still don't know what it means.
