Man PMS?

This is sort of vagina related... I guess. Anyway, a professor of mine mentioned the other day how he can always tell when his wife is getting her period because he starts to get irritable and moody and stuff. (don't ask how we got on this topic, lol.) And he mentioned that he grew up in a house full of women, and now he's married with two (young) daughters. I thought this was sort of interesting, but wasn't sure how true it could be. But then yesterday my boyfriend was all depressed and moody, like I get about 3 days into my period. I didn't really think anything of it, except for when I went to put my patch on today and realized this week was my period week. So... anybody experience anything like this with their guys, or is it just one big old coincidence?

i've experienced this with my boyfriend too. a few days before my period, when i'm usually PMSing, he gets moody and irritable too. i think i read in a magazine once that there is such thing as male PMS.

Yep, it's called IMS - Irritable Male Syndrome.

They've done studies that show that in the same way women's periods start to align when they live together, when a man and woman live together for long periods of time, they will have testosterone and estrogen highs and lows at opposite times. It's nature's way of evening the playing field, I guess. My boyfriend often refers to his "manperiod," because he has noticed that there are times when he retains more water, is more irritable, etc. I usually try not to mention the fact that he is not having a period BECAUSE HE IS NOT GUSHING BLOOD. :-)

I grew-up in a family of mostly women, my mom, and two sisters, and we'd all be on the rag at the same time. Needless to say, my poor father was outnumbered, I'm sure I remember him turning into a bitch just as much as we were.

Yep. My ex-husband was the same way. What's more, when I was pregnant he had cravings for the first several months. He started putting tabasco on everything, and had to have a Dairy Queen butterfinger blizzard every day. At the same time I was craving red meat and watermelon. It was a very strange time for our eating habits. We did tend to grill outside a lot that summer though, and that kicked ass.

Haha, that's funny. Something to look forward to, lol.

Yup. Not so much the irritability (my boy's one of those almost painfully cheerful people, which can be annoying, but can also be good for cheering me up), but he'll actually get stomach cramps in line with me getting period cramps, whether or not we're in the same place.
I've had him call/msg me from his place out of the blue asking if I've got cramps, and lo and behold, he thought to ask because of the pain he was experiencing. It was very odd for me when it first happened (partially because we weren't really dating at the time), but he's had the same thing with partners/close female friends before.

Im convinced my boyfriend PMSes...Theres a period of time each month when he gets extremely irritable, and cranky. Just like I do.

I'm also absolutely convinced that boys get PMS.

He sometimes gets cranky, but I figured it was just because I was getting cranky with him. But maybe there is something hormonal to it.

My ex-husband didn't get "PMS-y" so to speak, but he could keep better track of my cycle than I could because during my PMS-week he would break out in mild acne on his forehead, and he normally had really good skin. This started happening when we were married for about six months. After a while I never had to use a calendar to keep track; I'd just watch his face!

I spend eight hours a day standing on the other side of a four foot or so wide table from a man. He definitely gets cranky the week I have my period. We are not involved in any way other than being work-mates. [I have been married 21 years and he has several girlfriends.] We have always had an interesting relationship [we have worked in the same place for three years but have only worked this close for ten months], but this crankiness seems to have developed in the last half a year or so.
