Pea sized lump on cervix...appeared overnight a week ago...

Hi lVPers, I'm kind of trying not to freak out here, but I've realized I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and need to learn to relax...leave my doctor alone, so here I am, hoping someone else has had a similar experience??

A firm pea sized lump appeared on the outside of my cervix (not right at the opening, sort of just over the edge away from the opening, along the wall, but protruding towards the opening) overnight about a week ago.  It wasn't there Tuesday, had sex that night, and it was there Wednesday.  It's firm, definitely not normal texture of cervix, and if I press on it with my finger tip a tiny bit of blood comes away.  It doesn't hurt at all...what could this be?  I've had 2 other tiny bumps that won't go away that my doctor says are nothing...there's no discharge, no smell, nothing.  I had a pap done on May 24 but the results take 6 weeks, so I've got just over 2 weeks to wait, and I can't get in to see my doctor before then.  Help??

If it's not a nabothian cyst -- it's quite possibly just "a harmless cyst." I've had one in my leg (inner thigh just above the knee) for ages, and another cropped up on my arm, and the doctor poked it and said that it was the same thing. Hard, roundish, and not mushy, yes? Probably just the same thing. However, if it is irritating you, definitely talk to your doctor about what might be done to remove it -- and, of course, the risks of even minor surgery in that area. (Nerves; they don't get along with sharp metal things.)
