So, I'm slightly worried.
Upon reading many entries on this page and researching a bit I've decided to give the Mooncup a try. I'd tried tampons once when I was 13, about seven years ago. Now that I think of it I was probably no inserting them far enough, but it never felt comfortable.
Cut to today. I'm not on my period yet, but upon buying the Mooncup I decided to give it a test run, see how it worked, if the stem needed to be trimmed, and everything before my next period started (I thought I'd be more stressed out if I tried it then). Inserting it was definitely not as difficult as I thought it would be, I'm not sure yet about how comfortable I'll be with it inside of me all day (it seems like my vagina muscles like pushing whenever there's something in there... If anyone knows anything about this "problem" as well, that'd be great), but my main worry is this: I had a hard time getting it out and had to invade quite a bit in there. At some point during the removal I felt a pain deep inside my vagina, and when I finally managed to get the cup out, there was a bit of blood on both my fingers and the cup. I'm worried I "ripped" something inside or was a bit too rough with my vagina.
Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you.
By the way, since it's my first post: hello everyone, what a nice community you've got here :)

a couple of days ago i was curious and fed up with tampons, and i actually suceeded. it didn't stick out and i trimmed the stem a little so it fit perfectly. its so comforatble that you kind of forget you have it in. this makes no sense but my vagina seems more flexible/softened while i'm having a period so it goes in easily. and i found that pinching the base and easing it down a little and then slightly bending it in the middle into a slight c fold to continue removing it enables me to remove it without pain, but if its quite full it can spill so i remove it over the toilet to minimise clean up.
so i think you should try when you're having a period and try putting it higher. my cup goes in as far as it can go and sits around my cervix and is very comfortable.
Now I'm still trying to figure out how far high I should have it, because I don't think suction happened that time. I'm hopeful!
Do you have any idea why your cervix wasn't allowing it to fit the first time, but you managed the second?
with the suction issue, is the cup fully open? in the mooncup user guide it says pinching the bottom or running a finger around the edge can check to see if its open properly. or if this isn't the case at all try checking the menstrual cup community which i hope i've just linked to. it has really good tips. http://menstrual-cups.livejournal.com/
i think it was because my cervix (i didn't know what it was for weeks) was 3cm maybe 3.5cm inside my vagina. i even measured 5 times because that didn't seem right but it was. but 2nd try my cervix had traveled slightly higher but still wasn't high enough to get it all in. during period time my cervix seems to travel way up there so the mooncup fits and has my cervix lying partially in it.
