Uterine lining shedding?

I never thought I'd be posting here, but here it goes.

Last night I had massive massive painful cramping, and at one point I felt like a massive clot went through, but when I got to the bathroom a big chunk of what looked like slimy skin came out. I've seen posts on here before about shedding the uterine lining or something, and what came out looks similar to that (triangular shaped, about three inches long an inch and a half wide at the base), but I've tried googling it to make sure that it's not a sign of something bad happening, and found nothing.

I can't find the tag about it on here, and I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't dying or something. The massive cramping pain stopped after whatever it was came out, but I've never had it happen before.

Thanks.

It sounds like uterine lining shedding to me.
I've had it happen a couple of times, but thankfully it hasn't happened in a year or so.
Usually it happened on the first day or two of my period, and the cramps were beyond compare - paralysing, really. Then I'd find a greyish, kind of lumpy, slimey thing on my pad and I'd start feeling better after.

From what I know it's relatively normal - women have shed entire casts of their uterus, so a small piece shouldn't be an issue. Apart from the discomfort, it should be harmless.

O_O

I had no idea it could come out like THAT. Had no idea something like that came out at all...

The lining of your Uterus is supposed to shed every cycle if an egg hasn't been fertilized.

Yes -- but it usually, near as I can tell, comes out in small, gooey globs instead of large, "Hai! I look like skin! Rawr!" sheets.

However, it is within the range of normal for that to happen. (And very much in the range of normal for people to ask about it on VP! O:D ) I suspect it hurts so much because it's going out through the cervix and the cervix is only dilated enough to pass small, gooey globs with... Um. Something resembling comfort.

Definitely sounds like uterine lining. There have been posts here before, even with pictures. What your describing sounds exactly like that.

It's happened to me before too, although it was a very small piece on my toilet paper after wiping. I would have freaked if I hadn't seen those posts about it here!

I get it every month. So does my mum. We call it 'chopped liver'....You've got to keep a sense of humour about things!!

This started happening to me in the last week or so. Freaked me out, until I remembered posts here on VP.
Eeeeep!
