bleachy scent

I am a vegetarian, and use Depo as bc. I noticed that my vagina smells kinda like mild bleach, I don't know the best way to describe it other than to say that. Has anybody experienced something like that? When it smells like that my pantliners are like torn-up by what I guess is discharge Idk. It doesn't hurt.

Sometimes people just smell "bleachy," to be honest. I don't know why your scent would change suddenly, but the one you're describing is very common.

And discharge can be very acidic. I've had underwear where the whole cotton panel has been discolored, like from black to orange, by my discharge.

Just to let you know, I'm on depo and haven't had such a change happen. I have however also heard of people's underwear being worn through by their discharge, so I don't reckon it's anything to worry about.

I think that it's fairly normal. Sometimes I smell like that a little bit during the middle of my cycle and my boyfriend's cum ALWAYS smells like bleach. Dunno why though!

I've had that problem before. It used to be absolutely TERRIBLE when I used disposable menstrual products. Since I switched to cloth it's been MUCH better--only one incident with bleachy-smelling discharge, and it ate through an almost-brand-new pair of underwear in a matter of hours (yes, I had washed them first and worn them a couple times before and washed since so it wasn't a reaction to the underwear...)

I found out that my bodily fluids were ALL very acidic at the same time as the bleachy vaginal discharge was which caused eye problems, stained clothing like I had sweat bleach, it was painful and awful. When it started, it always started with the vaginal discharge, and if I drank a big glass of baking-soda-water, it usually cleared up within a day or so. Faster if I avoided acidic and spicy foods.

YMMV, of course. Just my story.

Yeah, maybe I should switch to cloth. I am currently using Always. Thanks for the advice

Bleach has a very high pH, which is unusual for the vagina (which normally has a very low, acidic pH). If you start getting any symptoms of an infection (itching/pain/discomfort, increased discharge, or foul odor), I think you'll know that it's caused by a pH imbalance.
