Recurring pimple

I have a gyno appointment coming up on the 17th, and I plan to ask the Dr about it, but in the meantime I thought I might get some ideas by picking your brains.

I have a recurring pimple that keep appearing in the same spot below my right nipple. It comes up about once every 2- 3 weeks, and every time it I find it I panic and David has to reassure me that it's just a pimple. I'm just wondering if it could be anything more serious than just a pimple since it's always in the same spot.

Thanks in advance for your insight.

ETA: I rarely wear a bra, and when I do it's a sports bra. And wearing one or not doesn't seem to affect the occurance of a pimple one way or another.

It's probably nothing to worry about.
It could be one of a few things, though: ingrown hair or an allergic reaction to fabric softener. Sometimes, people who have reactions to softeners/detergents get the worst ones where the clothes are closest to the skin - armpits, back of the knee and such. But if you don't use any of those...

We've used the same detergent for several months, and I rarely wear a bra. (I've noticed that it doesn't matter whether I've been wearing on or not as far as a pimple occuring.)

It's just strange.

I get this too; a pimple in the same spot, all the time but on the underside of my breast....I've found it's where my bra rubs. The bra I wear the most has kind of a bunching of fabric there for some reason.

I'm hoping that explains mine...but now you've got me wondering :S

it could be an ingrown hair, or where your shirt or something else happens to semi-regularily rub.

I don't know--sometimes those things are just random, you know? I mean, when I'm nearing my period, I tend to get a pimple on on the same spot on my face every month, and I have a recurring pimple that crops up on my left labia sometimes too (I had it checked out once, and it was perfectly normal). Probably you've got nothing to worrry about, but asking the doc is a good idea anyway, just to put your mind at ease.

I have a similar thing--not a pimple, more like a little whitehead on my nipple. I doubt it's anything to worry about, but you could put some acne treatment on it when it flares up.

maybe it's an infected or clogged hair pore or oil gland

I have kinda bad skin, and I notice that if a pimple in one spot gets particularly bad (sort of cysts up), that even if it goes away, it'll come back now and then. I think sometimes the pore/hair follicle/whatever gets maybe scarred up and doesn't drain correctly. Or that's my theory, anyway.

That would be my theory, too. I have a little pore on my aureola edge which I tend to manually express now and then because it can get gunk built up in it. It was once infected, and it just doesn't drain right anymore.

Are you sure it isn't an ingrown hair? I have one follicle on my nipple that constantly gets an ingrown hair.

Sorry I have no advice on how to get rid of it but just wanted to say I get a pimple in the exact same spot on my face (and I do not have acne at all). The only time I break out ever is maybe once a month with the same damn pimple. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Is it on your areola, or below it? If it's on it, it could just be a montgomery gland and not a pimple, and those are perfectly normal. If it IS a pimple, I seriously doubt it's anything to worry about other than an irritated follicle.
