Okay, sorry for the stupid question, but I've had about ten gallons (okay, not really, but a LOT) of parsley tea. I've made it three times, with enormous amounts of parsley. Nothing has happened! How frustrating. I guess it doesn't work for everyone? Is there any way I might be doing it wrong?
Also, I took about 5-7 500mg Vitamin C pills today (spaced out, of course), as per the alternate instructions to induce periods - I just read somewhere that it gives you diarrhea. Does it really? :( :(
Edit: Thanks for all the helpful comments, guys. :) I really appreciate it. FYI, I had really painful diarrhea this evening. probably brought on by the Vitamin C. So if you're thinking about taking a lot of it to induce your period, think about this first!

Yes. Excessive Vitamin C consumption gives you diarrhea. Simply put, it is one of the few vitamins where your body will pass it through the digestive system when it has had enough.
Thanks for the info! Okay, I'm giving up on trying to induce my period. It's just given me way too much trouble, and no period...
I think perhaps it is just a bit hit and miss as a method!
BTW, I went to your journal on a whim and saw you go to Oxford. I'm going there for a semester starting September, on an exchange program from my university! So excited :)
yay! oxford is very cool. what college will you be at? do you like theatre and/or drinking? (if so) you should consider joining OULES, and learn all about pantomime. it's, er, very british.

Otherwise, the only time that parsley tea didn't work for me I was pregnant. If that's a concern for you then take a test before trying anything else. If not then you can either persevere or wait a bit longer.
Personally I am not comfortable with the Vit C method (even though my parents ARE herbalists and I am right now at this moment at my second job which is working in a health food store). I know the ill effects of over plugging your body with Vits, it can be just as bad as not getting enough.
SO,. Parsley tea,. you should be able to get dried Parsley in your local heath food store in tea bags OR loose,. if it is loose, 1 cup of freshly boiled water poured over 2 tablespoons of dried leaves, or use a tea bag. Let sit for 5 minutes.
To use fresh, 1 cup of freshly boiled water and a hand full of fresh leaves,. let sit for 20 minutes.
Drink either infusion 3-4 times a day NOT going over 4 days. If its still not there, you're body is just not ready and you'll have to give it a rest for a week.
Now that other one I was speaking of,. take a sprig of parsley and push it up near your cervix, change every 12 hours, do this no more than 3 days. The woman I learned it from gets her cycle in about 2 days. I end up with mine in just about 12 hours.
WARNING: PREGNANT WOMAN SHOULD NOT BE DRINKING PARSLEY TEA, IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS IMPLICATIONS
