Signs that you're going to get your period?

I'm not on birth control now, so I can't keep track that way. I keep track on the calendar, and also, my body gives me clues.

Two or three days before, I get a migraine.

I get a slight nosebleed the day before my period and also, one little hair grows out of a mole on my chin the day before. I tweeze it out and it doesn't grow back until it's period time again.

Does anyone else have weird ways of knowing a period is imminent?

Butterfigers! I develop butterfingers about a week before my period arrives.

I just have a certain feeling in my body. It's not accurate in the sense that I could time myself by it (I've never tried), but I get a really distinct sensation in my insides and my limbs and everything that is quite indicative of impending period.

I can't explain it better than that.

I'm on BC so I'm regular, but I always get this one zit in the same exact spot right underneath my chin the day before, and it lasts through my entire cycle. Then it goes away and comes back the next month.

my lower back gets achey.

not especially weird, but never fail, my already large breasts feel like they're filled with lead the days before my period. And when the blood comes, the pain goes.

I just feel very "sticky" down there - change in discharge is a key indicator I'm getting my period soon.

My foot and leg usually gets numb right before
but its exciting because I have to guess which leg its going to be every time.

Sometimes my skin hurts before my period comes.

I have the weirdest PMS symptom ever, the day my period starts I have a higher chance of deciding to wear a dress or skirt. I never wear dresses or skirts, and if I want to I talk myself out of it, but on that one day I have a harder time trying to convince myself to wear jeans...who knows what's up with that--it also only happens if starts in mid-moring or early afternoon any earlier or later and it doesn't happen..so it's not always an exact marker, but if i put on a skirt and dress and it's at the right point in my cycle my period will start in a couple of hours

I tend to get horny a day or two before it comes. :D I also will just get an urge to start carrying pads with me, and sometimes might put one on even if I'm not bleeding yet.

Ditto this! Along with bad stomach cramps, a change in discharge, bigger breasts, eating huuge amounts, a crazy amount of spots and most weirdly of all, an increased sense of smell :/
aleadfeather 10th-Apr-2008 02:18 am (UTC)
I eat a LOT more.

Sometimes (definitely not every time) I experience cold-like symptoms, including sneezing and runny nose, aches and pains in my limbs, a small fever, and extreme tiredness.

It never lasts more than a day, and only happens right before I get my period.

About 2 days before I have an *OMG I'M FAT* breakdown and feel very fat and bloated (then I irrationally blame my husband) and gain about 2 pounds (just enough that I can't fit my pants comfortably and resort to my sweats) that magically disappears about 24 hours after the blood shows up.

My inner body temperature seems to drop so much. My bones get really cold feeling and I cannot warm up no matter what. so weird

HORRIBLE mood swings and mild cramps - they don't feel like the cramps I get when I actually start, but they're cramps nonetheless. But the mood swings are really what do me in, and everyone around me can tell - I get irritated way easily, and by the stupidest stuff.

My poor guy friends usually get the brunt of it, ha. They can always tell, even if I don't say anything about being PMS-y, because all of a sudden, "Nothing I say is right!"

I used to get REALLY REALLY bitchy the night before. I got my period for the first time when I was 11, and I remember I was really bratty to the point that my mom almost slapped me-and she never laid a hand on me really. Must be a hormone surge, but I'm such a bitch the night before. And then the next day I realize what it was, and go apologize to people. :D

Not so very weird, I guess. When I wasn't on hormonal birth control, it was very simple: my period would arrive 15 days after my cervical fluid got sticky and tacky again and after my waking temperature rose.

Now that I'm on the pill, however, I have nothing nearly so reliable. It comes any time my uterus decides she's no longer interested in this particular uterine lining. Sometimes spotting is the very first for sure sign, followed quickly by cramps. And while I do get breast tenderness and soreness every third week of active pills, this happens regardless of whether I'm planning to bleed (or actually end up bleeding) the following week or not.

Any pimples I have magically disappear in the last two days before. And I can just feel it...no aching or anything, just this feeling in my lower abdomen that says "period" to me.

Of course, the pimples disappearing is a much more accurate timetable, because the period feeling pops up a little randomly, 1-5 days before.

My boobs get sort of swollen and my nipples get extremely sensitive when I ovulate, and that lasts through my luteal phase till I get my period. The morning that I wake up and my boobies aren't sore anymore, that's the day that I know I'll be getting my period. Some cycles it's more pronounced than others. This time I thought my nipples were getting bitten every time they touched something; it's also not entirely gone even though I've been on my period for four days.

i eat so much for about the week before and the day before i get really achy and cold to the point where i can't warm up. also i usually break out about 2 or 3 days before i get it and my skin clears up magically right when it's over.

Before HBC, without fail the day before my period I'd get achey shins, the kind of legache you get as a kid that wakes you up in the middle of the night. My wisdom teeth also only came in right before/during my period, no other times of the month. Like others have mentioned, I also often get extra clumsy around my period.
crotchitch 10th-Apr-2008 09:09 am (UTC)
i feel incredibly self-conscious/fat and have mild cramps.
whiterabit 10th-Apr-2008 10:21 am (UTC)
i compulsively clean things (and I am messsssssy person). Also I cry at just about anything. And crave red meat (been a vegetarian since birth) And the day I have a hysterical sob fest about something is the day I get my period.
soulsearcher139 10th-Apr-2008 07:50 pm (UTC)
this is going to sound odd but 2 days before my period is going to start i lose all sense of taste. I'm not kidding, it really sucks. I have to put tons of spices and other stuff on food just to taste it. it goes away when my period starts.

I think I qualify for the weirdest PMS symptom
