Itchy Vagina after Oral Sex

Hi there! I'm new to the community so sorry if this has been covered, over the last couple of days I've tried a good search through the archives and everything but couldn't find anything. First of all, awesome community! I'm really loving all the vagina knowledge I've been acquiring like I finally got my girlfriends drunk enough to just spill everything!

I do have an issue however. A few nights ago 'new boy I'm seeing' performed some very enthusiastic oral sex, a little TOO enthusiastic for my tastes so I stopped him and we moved on and had protected sex and so on. The next day I woke up feeling a bit sore and then a bit sore turned into MAD itchiness and soreness and redness all along my vulva, around the clitoris, entrance of the vagina and back a little towards the anus. Basically everywhere he touched with his tongue of poison.

It's been a couple days now and the itchiness is still there. No abnormal discharge what so ever, no strange smells. We haven't had sex because I got my period but I don't think I could anyways, even inserting the diva cup has become quite uncomfortable and sore through the entrance.

Is this something someone else has experienced? It has gotten a bit better but it's definitely still itchy and this is day three. Is this something I should haul myself to the clinic before or do you think it's just straight forward irritation?

Side note : Anyone have any suggestions on soothing the itch? I haven't gotten myself to the chemist but I hear that baby rash cream would work. I've been just using some straight aloe juice from my plant in the mean time. It kind of works but really short term.

Thanks so much!

Do you have any known allergies, especially to food (I only ask this in case he had eaten something that you're sensitive to. My daughter is allergic to peanuts, and if a dog who has eaten a treat made with peanut butter licks her face/hands, it's a big problem)? Or are you perhaps allergic to a latex condom you may have used? *puzzles*

Hey that's a good theory. No known food allergies though :( We ate the same thing that night.

I've never had a reaction to a latex condom before either.

Rinsing & drying off afterwards is always a good idea, to prevent the itch.

As a long-shot, could he have had thrush? (Oral yeast infection; relatively common with nursing babies, who pass it onto their mother's breasts.) Or a really sugary mouth that made yeast go WHEE!, maybe? You might not have an internal yeast infection, but an external one could be bad enough.

Thanks much, thinking it might be boo :( Need to watch for that next time.

It sounds a lot like thrush (yeast infection) to me. It may have been triggered by his stubble or something he had been eating. It also could be an allergy to anything like a change of soap (did you shower at his place?) or different washing detergent, or as a previous commenter said, an allergy to the condom or to the lubricant or spermicide of that condom.

Also, did you shave yourself just before having sex? Shaving takes layers off your skin and that combined with saliva and secretions can be highly irritating.

If it's thrush, plain yogurt (NO SUGAR!) applied directly to your bits (and inside) will give you some instant relief, but if it's a bad case it will only help temporarily, you'll need something from a chemist. If it's an allergy or skin irritation, washing gently with cool and lukewarm water and mild (like baby) soap and wearing cotton knickers and no tight pants etc should help it settle down.

PS some girls get discharge/smells from thrush and some don't.

Thanks so much for all your advice. I was really hoping it wasn't thrush :( It is getting better but I'll keep an eye on it.

I jus wanna say thanks for posting this and not sugar coting anything. I'm experincing that same thing (same reasons of course) right now and I found the responces very helpful.

Thanks again ~_^

I guess now I should come right here to live journal for my 'girl questions'.

After oral, everything that this person wrote in the second paragraph I have, PLUS it seems that the area down there is also very dry, I took a mirror and checked and it looks like very dry, irritated skin!

Would this still possibly be thrush =( ?

I've also been washing down there daily AND used Vaseline to soothe the itching...I also had a bump down there after my ex fingered me and oregano oil helped significantly, are these alright?

Thanks so much for this. I actually searched this exact question and got here. Gotta love LJ always relevant. Thanks
No chancee of latex issues as it was only oral but she was chewing some sugary gum at the time.
